If you’ve ever seen a sticker that breaks into tiny flakes the moment someone tries to peel it off — you’ve seen an egg shell sticker. They’re called that for a simple reason: the paper cracks under stress, exactly like a real eggshell.

In Singapore, you’ll see them most often as warranty seals on electronics, asset tags on office laptops, and tamper seals on cosmetics or food packaging. Anywhere “this seal must not be broken without leaving evidence” matters, an egg shell sticker is doing the work.
This guide walks through what egg shell stickers actually are, how the paper behaves, where they’re used, and how to order them in Singapore — including how the egg shell paper we print on differs from the destructible vinyl most overseas suppliers offer.
An egg shell sticker is a tamper-evident sticker printed on a special fragile paper substrate. When applied to a clean surface, it bonds normally — but the moment anyone tries to peel it off, the paper fragments into small flakes instead of coming away cleanly. The label can’t be removed in one piece, and it can’t be re-applied somewhere else.
You’ll see the same product called by several other names depending on the supplier:
In Singapore, “egg shell sticker” and “security sticker” are by far the most common search terms — and they refer to the same physical product. We list ours under “security sticker” because that’s the term most buyers reach for first, but the material is the egg shell paper used industry-wide.
Egg shell paper is engineered to fail in tension. The paper layer is intentionally weakened so that any peel force stronger than the adhesive’s grip on the surface causes the paper to break before the adhesive lets go.
Three things happen when someone tries to remove the sticker:
What you’re left with is a clear visual record that the seal was broken. There’s no way to “un-tamper” the label or stick it back together.
The adhesive itself is high-tack and water-sensitive. That makes it bond aggressively to most clean, dry surfaces — but it also means egg shell stickers are designed for indoor and dry-environment use. For outdoor, wet or freezer applications, you’d want a different material (we’ll cover that below).

This is the one decision most Singapore buyers don’t realise they’re making. Both materials are tamper-evident. The differences come down to print quality, minimum order, and durability:
| Egg shell paper (what we print on) | Destructible vinyl (most overseas suppliers) | |
|---|---|---|
| Print method | Digital, full-colour CMYK | Mostly screen print, fixed colours |
| Colour accuracy | Sharp, brand-accurate | Limited palette |
| Smallest text | Down to 6pt cleanly | 8–10pt before fuzz |
| Minimum order | From 100 pieces | Often 1,000–5,000 pcs |
| Outdoor durability | Indoor / short outdoor | Better outdoor / wet performance |
| Lead time in Singapore | 3–4 process days, same/next-day available | Usually 1–3 weeks (overseas freight) |
| Best use cases | Branded warranty seals, cosmetics, asset tags, packaging | Outdoor equipment ID, vehicle tags, harsh environments |
For most Singapore commercial uses — short-run brand seals, cosmetics, electronics warranty stickers, IT asset tags, packaging integrity — egg shell paper is the right choice. You get sharper print, lower minimums, and faster local turnaround. Destructible vinyl has its place, but it’s overkill (and often unavailable in small batches) for indoor security applications.

A few of the most common applications we see at Orange Print:
Warranty seals on electronics. Phone repair shops, laptop refurbishers, and electronics retailers use egg shell stickers across screw heads or case seams. If the seal’s broken, the warranty’s been touched — no argument.
Asset tags and IT inventory. Offices print egg shell stickers with asset IDs and barcodes for laptops, AV equipment, machinery, and office furniture. Once on, they stay for the asset’s life. Removal attempts are obvious, which keeps stocktake honest.
Tamper seals on packaging. Cosmetics, supplements, food products, e-commerce parcels — anywhere a customer needs to know “no one has opened this between the factory and me.” Common across local D2C brands and food businesses.
Anti-counterfeit branding. Premium goods get branded egg shell seals across the box. Counterfeiters can’t peel-and-reuse them, so authentic packaging becomes harder to fake.
Season passes and access permits. Gym memberships, parking permits, event wristband alternatives, school equipment passes. Once stuck, they don’t transfer.
Confidential file sealing. Audit trails, secure document boxes, server-room access labels, evidence bags. The seal records every access attempt by definition — it can’t be opened invisibly.

At Orange Print, every egg shell sticker is digitally printed at our Singapore facility. The process:
Standard turnaround is 3–4 process days. Same-day or next-day production is available — message before ordering to confirm capacity for that day.
A few practical notes before you place an order:
To order, go to the security sticker product page and use the price calculator to set size, shape, and quantity. The price displayed is for printing only and applies to a single artwork design.
Egg shell stickers are made from a deliberately fragile paper layer bonded to a high-tack adhesive. The paper is engineered to crack and fragment along internal weak points, so the sticker can’t be peeled cleanly off a surface.
Yes, in Singapore the two terms describe the same product. “Egg shell” refers to the paper substrate; “security sticker” refers to the function. Some suppliers also call them tamper-evident, destructible, or frangible labels.
Yes — at Orange Print our minimum order is 100 pieces per design, with no surcharge for short runs. Most overseas suppliers require 1,000+, which is why short-run buyers in Singapore often default to the local print route.
Egg shell paper is designed for indoor and short-outdoor use. For sustained outdoor exposure, wet environments, or freezer applications, choose UV DTF stickers instead — they’re built on a tougher film + ink stack and handle weather without the fragility trade-off.
Standard turnaround is 3–4 process days from artwork approval. Same-day and next-day options are available — WhatsApp us at +65 8438 1313 or tap the live chat bubble (bottom-right of every page) before ordering, so we can confirm capacity for the day.
Egg shell adhesive bonds well to glass, plastic, painted metal, anodised aluminium, and paperboard. It performs less well on silicone-treated surfaces, oily finishes, raw timber, and very low-energy plastics like polyethylene. If you’re not sure, send us a sample of the surface and we’ll test fit before you commit to a full run.
Yes — square, rectangle, oval, round, and fully custom die-cuts. Specify dimensions in the order calculator (or attach a die-line file for custom shapes).
If your project needs a tamper-evident seal that proves whether anyone touched your product — egg shell stickers are the right tool. We print them digitally in Singapore from 100 pieces, with 3–4 process day standard turnaround and faster options on request.
